TRUTH, JUSTICE, REPAIR

CAMPAIGN UPDATE

The Dea Foy For Congress campaign thanks EVERYONE who sent love, support, advice and encouragement. Over the last few weeks; the candidate and campaign team have learned more about Texas and USA politics than we ever thought we would. In addition, we met so many kind and generous people. All the good energy sent our way, made the run more than worth it.

However, despite all best efforts, we were not able to collect the required signatures in the limited time-frame to submit our application for placement on the general ballot (per Texas Elections Code Statue Chapter 142). It's a bitter pill to swallow; but we were brave and we tried. And because we believe how Independent Candidates are burdened with limited time-frames and petition signing restrictions; we still hold hope, for the success of the most recent COMPLAINT FOR DECLARATORY AND PERMANENT INJUNCTIVE RELIEF, filed by multiple plaintiffs, to the UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE WESTERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS AUSTIN DIVISION June 10, 2026.

This campaign agrees with the claims therein below:
Section 93 describes how Texas can “further reduce the burden and expense” for Independent Candidates as done by the states of Arizona and New Mexico that provide an online platform for voters to sign petitions.

COUNT I describes Independent Candidates are limited to a time-frame between primary or run-offs that could be less than 30-days; whereas primary candidates are free to begin collecting signatures for the full two years between election cycles.

And so, it is our hope the above described request for relief is successful. However, even as our candidate may not make it to the 2026 November General Ballot, the team moves forward as Grassroots Political Advocates for District 5, Texas and the United States of America.
